Framing (and mounting) really elevates a piece of artwork. Exploring and discussing mount and frame options for my artwork is one of my favourite moments!

The mount within a frame helps preserve your artwork over time as it creates a gap, thereby preventing the surface from ever coming into contact with the glass.

I offer single and double mount options for paper artwork (up to A2 size).

See mount examples and ideas further down.

You may of course choose not to have the artwork mounted or framed.

Options for paper artwork – mount card only; single or double mount with frame (click on the images below for an example of a double mount and frame)

Options for canvas artwork – not currently available but watch this space as floating frames might feature in the future!

Above are examples of two double mounted and framed Swirling Skies (A3 size artwork in 16″ by 20″ frames) for a local cafe display.

Wall Fixings

Appropriate wall fixings are provided with all framed and canvas pieces attached to the back. This may be D-rings with a wire across the back or for small pieces, a sawtooth hanger or other appropriate hanging hardware.

Here you can see example mount schemes and ideas to help you visualise finished items.

An off-white mount with subtle coloured undermount (like the Swirling Skies above) is my personal preference.

However, more colourful mount schemes can work beautifully too; it just depends on taste!

Delivery

I use couriers based on their record for handling artwork I have sent in the past. I have had good experiences with Royal Mail, which tends to be a more affordable and reliable option than other couriers I have used before.

As an example, it cost £33 to send a 100 x 120cm canvas to a client, with express next day delivery, including damage protection (Royal Mail Parcelforce in Aug 2026). Prices in the future may vary though.

However, if you have other preferences regarding couriers we can, of course, discuss this 🙂

Packaging

For framed artwork and large canvas pieces I prefer to use art packaging services from specialists in this area – e.g. Transartbox – who produce sturdy, fit for purpose boxes and usually include options such as foam (cut to size for a snug fit) and plywood protection.

For large canvases I use plywood as a bare minimum with foam/bubblewrap to ensure there is no chance of anything piercing the artwork and to protect it from dings, particularly the sides and corners as it provides a solid overhang.

Smaller cavases can travel safely without plywood, with adequate padding.

Large unframed and unmounted paper artwork is rolled and sent in a sturdy art tube, whilst smaller pieces can be sent in a board-backed envelope.

Framed pieces require adequate foam padding.

Are collections available?

If you live within reasonable reach, collections for small – medium works can easily be arranged around the NE Hampshire area to save on packaging and postage costs. However there would be a small collection fee instead of postage to get your work to the collection point.

This would invariably be a local cafe because, well, any excuse for cake and coffee, right!? 🙂

I am open to the handing over of large artwork as well, if this is preferred (especially where customers live close by). However, it can be a little more awkward, space-wise, but not impossible! In this instance it would is worth having the vehicle set up and ready with enough room to house the artwork for a smooth handover e.g. back seats down! 🙂
