PLEASE NOTE – UK shipping only. Collections within the North East Hampshire area can be arranged (small-medium artwork).
You can commission a completely new piece or you might see something on the website which you like. We can recreate a custom version just for you. Some people send me images of other artwork they like to portray the sort of thing they are after.
We’ll talk through your ideas, palette and dimensions.
You will be part of the process throughout. With regular check ins and updates from me, we will create something together.
Shipping details and costs will always be discussed and agreed beforehand.
We can look at framing options too ahead of time to get a whole picture of the finished product.
Feel free to contact me about any questions or ideas you have in mind.
I’d love to hear from you!
A commission typically takes between 3 – 8 weeks depending on demand and the complexity and size of the piece. I would keep you updated on progress.
It can be daunting and overwhelming to decide a colour palette or style of painting. No question is silly!
I will give support and help guide you all the way. Through discussion (whether in person, over the phone or via email/messages) and the use of mock ups (preparatory paintings/drafts) you will see what sorts of visions I have for you based on our dialogue; this gives you time and visual references before any piece is started, to get a clear idea of what you want.

In the past, people have sent me images of other artists’ work, or pointed to my previous work to illustrate the things they like (and dislike).
For example, one client initially said they wanted a fair bit of pink to feature, but when we looked at palettes and other visual references it turned out they really disliked bright, ‘candyfloss’ pinks and wanted more muted dusky tones which shifted the colour scheme. These subtle differences are important since art is so subjective.
I aim to provide 3 – 4 mock up studies* (more where necessary) to narrow down ideas and make sure that we are both on the same page and I feel confident to get started on our combined vision!
* I create ‘no obligation’ mock ups to ensure that you can see prototypes of the piece before any commissioned artwork begins.
No transactions or agreements are made until you are fully satisfied and decide to start a commission after the mock up and discussion phase.
Please be assured that there is no obligation during the mock up period to pursue a commission, if you subsequently decide not to do so.

During the creation of your commission, regular images and updates are sent to keep you informed about the progress of the piece. Although, some people, ask me to keep it a surprise until the end! That’s up to you! If I have any questions however, I will always get in touch with images to double check you are happy with how it’s progressing. Paintings are organic afterall so changes can be made along the way!
The price of artwork depends on size and complexity.

But most importantly,
the expertise, skill and vision developed over the years through practice.

Framing (and mounting) really elevates a piece of artwork.
Additionally, the mount within a frame helps preserve the artwork over time as it creates a gap, thereby preventing the surface from ever coming into contact with the glass.
There are single and double mount options available for paper artwork (up to A2 size).
See mount examples and ideas further down, here.
You may of course choose not to have the artwork mounted or framed.
Options for paper artwork – mount card only; single or double mount with frame (see images below for an example of a double mount and frame)
Options for canvas artwork – not currently available but watch this space as floating frames might feature in the future!

Above are examples of two double mounted and framed Swirling Skies (A3 size artwork in 16″ by 20″ frames) for a local cafe display.
Wall Fixings
Appropriate wall fixings are provided with all framed and canvas pieces attached to the back. This may be D-rings with a wire across the back or for small pieces, a sawtooth hanger or other appropriate hanging hardware.
Here you can see example mount schemes and ideas to help you visualise finished items.
An off-white mount with subtle coloured undermount (like the Swirling Skies above) is my personal preference.
However, more colourful mount schemes can work beautifully too; it just depends on taste!

I only ship within the UK. However collections can be arranged.
I use couriers based on their record for handling artwork I have sent in the past. I have had good experiences with Royal Mail, which tends to be a more affordable and reliable option than other couriers I have used before.
As an example, it cost £33 to send a 100 x 120cm canvas to a client, with express next day delivery, including damage protection (Royal Mail Parcelforce in Aug 2026). Prices in the future may vary though.
If you have other preferences regarding couriers, we can of course discuss this.

For framed and large canvas pieces I normally use a specialist in art packaging – Transartbox – who include options such as foam (cut to size for a snug fit) and plywood protection.
For large canvases I use plywood as a bare minimum with bubblewrap, although it comes with extra cost, to ensure there is no chance of anything piercing the artwork and to protect it from dings, particularly the sides and corners, and bending.
Smaller cavases can travel safely without plywood, with adequate padding.
Medium – large unframed and unmounted paper artwork is rolled and sent in a sturdy art tube, whilst smaller pieces can be sent in a board-backed envelope.
Framed pieces require adequate foam padding.

Are collections available?
If you live within reasonable reach, collections for small – medium works can be arranged within or around the NE Hampshire area to save on packaging and postage costs. However there would be a small collection fee instead of postage to get your work to the collection point.
Any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
You are entitled to exercise your consumer rights to return or request a refund on an item which arrives broken or damaged, or is lost in the post.
Adequate proof of any damage or issues would be required. Before receiving any artwork, always be aware of how to act in a timely manner should any concerns arise on delivery. Further information below.
Sturdy, fit-for-purpose packaging materials are used to protect all work from harm during transit so the likelihood is slim, but accidents can happen so it is best to be prepared.
Ready-made original items (non-commissioned) have a ‘cooling off’ 14 day period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. You have the right to cancel an order within this time-frame and do not need to provide a reason. You will be refunded without undue delay if the item has not yet been sent.
Notice of cancellation must be provided in writing, via email.
Should the item be in transit or already delivered when notice of cancellation is provided, the refund will be processed once the unwanted item has been safely returned in the same condition it was sent. The consumer must cover the delivery cost for returning unwanted goods. This may require purchasing new packaging to ensure a safe return.
Please note – The 14 day ‘cooling off’ periond does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised. For Inspiredheart-kb, this means commissioned and bespoke pieces created to your own brief. Where an item is excluded, it will say so clearly on the commission contract before you buy. If you wish to cancel a contract once work has begun, the deposit paid upfront is non-refunable.*
*Non-Refundable Deposits: Deposits paid upfront are non-refundable because they cover initial labour, time, and raw materials.
What to do if artwork arrives damaged –
Document everything before you touch the parcel. Photograph the outer box from all angles, capturing any dents, punctures, or crushed corners. Film yourself opening the package, as this proves the damage was not caused by your unpacking. If the artwork itself is scratched, torn, or has a broken frame, photograph it against a plain background with a ruler for scale.
Contact me immediately with your evidence. At Inspiredheart-kb, every piece travels with protection against transit damage, so you are not left absorbing the cost of a courier’s mistake. I will typically file a claim with the courier service on your behalf, but they need your documentation to do so. Do not attempt to repair the artwork yourself, as this voids most insurance policies and return agreements.
