Solace of the Storm

Connecting with people through art and sharing my work with them is incredibly rewarding and a privilege.

Kyra Linton

The only official art qualifications I hold are my A level Art Certificates.

The rest is just passion and practice!

I work with acrylic paint on canvas and paper (heavy weight, canvas textured paper).

Head over to The Gallery to learn a bit more about my artwork, inspiration and style.

I believe that everyone deserves to have original, physical artwork

that is affordable and created by a human hand, heart and mind.

Created by yours truly! No mass reproductions.

When it comes to commissions, I will always try to work out a way to produce artwork on a budget that suits my clients including delivery options; it’s more than just business. I want to make it accessible.

No rigid formats. Bespoke means bespoke. I will adapt to make artwork that works for you.

Have a particular vision in mind? Tell me!

Have a special frame in mind? Let’s use it!

I will always be happy to guide and make suggestions.

Equally, if you have particular wishes or needs in relation to the art, I want to hear about it and will strive to make it your creation as much as it is mine. Commissions are a collaboration.

I create (‘zero-obligation’) mock ups to ensure that you can see a prototype of the piece before any commissioned artwork begins.

Having spent some time away from my job as a primary school teacher due to health difficulties, I started to rediscover my love for art again. I picked up a paintbrush for the first time in several years during a severe bout of depression and it instantly gave me a sense of satisfaction, purpose and connection. I felt different – like I had found a missing piece of myself.

This proved to be the first stepping stone on my way to recovery.

The image below is one of my early paintings in 2025 when I re-caught the painting bug. I have a particular artist to thank – Julia Powell – who I follow on instagram. Her artwork really struck me; I just love her use of colour and texture and the way she creates reflections on water. Her style really strikes a chord.

I was so taken by one of her pieces that I just had to create my own version of it which now sits proudly on our lounge wall (image below). It brightens up a rainy day and garners a lot of attention! It also landed me my first large-scale commission 🙂

This got me thinking about BIG skies. And so my own sky series was born this year (2026).

A lovable boisterous baffoon of a dog, who goes by the name of Loki. Always snoozing with one eye slightly open, keeping tabs on activities in our makeshift studio! He seems to appreciate the painting music playlists and puts up with my preoccupation with the art, so long as there are plenty of breaks for tummy rubs and playtime in return!

Thank you to my amazing family and friends who have encouraged me to pursue my art ambitions. I never would have taken it to the stage where I am speaking to cafes and local galleries about displaying my work, entering exhibitions and now building a website, as I write this, to scale up the business.

I am forever grateful for the feedback, support and the belief you have in me. It means the world.

And to Dave, my darling other half, who has taught me how to work some useful power tools and who puts up with the constant chaos and mess in our home!
